A 32-year-old De Soto man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated Saturday morning following a one-car accident on Hwy. 61 in St. Charles County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 1:12 a.m., the man was driving a northbound 2022 Nissan Altima on the highway and ran off the west side of the road, where the car overturned, the report said.

The man was moderately injured and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, according to the report.

He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.

The highway patrol arrested the man for the alleged DWI at 3:04 a.m. at the hospital, according to the report.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed in the case, and as of this morning, Oct. 20, none had been filed.
