A 25-year-old St. Louis woman was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a crash that left her, a De Soto teen and a Festus teen injured. The accident happened Thursday, May 30, just south of Olympian Village, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 6:14 p.m., the woman was driving eastbound on Flucom Road in a 2018 Toyota Rav4 and began to turn onto Hwy. 67, reportedly failing to yield to a 2004 GMC 2400 pickup on southbound Hwy. 67 driven by a 17-year-old boy from Festus. The pickup struck the left rear of the Toyota, the report said.

The woman was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, the report said. The Festus juvenile had minor injuries and a passenger, Tristan J. Thebeau, 18, of De Soto, was moderately injured, and both were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by private conveyance.

Thebeau was treated and released, and the hospital did not have information on the injured woman, a hospital spokesman said.

According to the report, the St. Louis woman was arrested for a DWI at 10:27 p.m.

The teenagers were wearing seat belts, and the woman was not, the report said, and both vehicles were totaled.

Because the 17-year-old is a juvenile, the Patrol did not release his name.

The woman’s name will not be printed unless charges are filed against her and, as of Friday afternoon, May 31, none had been filed.
