Katie T. Nguyen, 45, of Crystal City was seriously hurt Oct. 10 in a personal watercraft accident on the Mississippi River in the Twin City area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At about 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10, Tim T. Nguyen, 40, of Crystal City was operating a 1997 GTX Seadoo on the river, and Katie Nguyen was a passenger on the watercraft. Tim Nguyen did not see a wing dike and struck it with the watercraft, the report said.
Tim Nguyn had minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Katie Nguyen was transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where she was listed in satisfactory condition Monday (Oct. 12), a hospital spokesman said.
Both Nguyens were wearing safety devices, the patrol reported.
The Seadoo was totaled, the report said.
