A woman and man, both from De Soto, were injured Monday, April 3, in a one-vehicle accident on Project Road west of Hwy. FF in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:50 p.m., Cheryl L. Fields, 64, was driving west in a 2018 Nissan Rogue and while negotiating a curve, her vision was obscured by the sun, and the SUV ran off the right side of the road and struck several trees, the report said.
She had minor injuries and a passenger in the vehicle – Meredith B. Fields, 71 – was moderately injured. Cheryl Fields was taken by public conveyance to Mercy Hospital Washington where she was treated and released, and Meredith Fields was taken by St. Clair Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur where he was in satisfactory condition Thursday morning, April 7, a hospital spokesperson said.
According to the report, Cheryl Fields was wearing a seat belt and Meredith was not.
The Nissan was totaled, the report said.
