A 62-year-old Cedar Hill man died after a two-vehicle crash Feb. 28 in Washington County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The Highway Patrol no longer identifies victims of vehicle crashes. Washington County Coroner Steve Hatfield identified the man as Michael Eckstein.
According to the Highway Patrol, Eckstein was operating a 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glider too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate a right curve at 10:28 a.m. on Hwy. 185 near Goose Creek Road. The motorcycle crossed the center line and struck the front of a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser driven by a 37-year-old St. Charles man. The coroner pronounced Eckstein dead at the scene, and the body was taken to the Washington County Morgue.
No other injuries were reported. Both vehicles were totaled, and the driver was wearing a helmet.
