A Catawissa motorcyclist was seriously hurt Saturday evening (June 24) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 61 in Troy in Lincoln County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Beni Stan, 22, of Houston, Texas, was driving a 2003 Mazda MPV north on Hwy. 61 at 6:25 p.m. when, in an attempt to turn left onto North Lincoln Drive, he crossed the southbound lands of Hwy. 61 and into the path of a 1992 Kawasaki ridden by Paul Price, 43, of Catawissa. The motorcycle struck the right side of the car and both vehicles went off the west side of the road, and Price was thrown off the motorcycle.
Price sustained serious injuries and was taken by Lincoln County Ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Wentzville, the report said. Beni, who had minor injuries, was taken by Lincoln County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy.
Updates on their conditions were not available.
Price was wearing a helmet and Beni was wearing a seat belt, the report said. The motorcycle had extensive damage while the Mazda had moderate damage.
