A Ste. Genevieve teenager was seriously injured Saturday afternoon, April 13, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. A and Old Hwy. A northwest of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:15 p.m., Brendon P. Corbett, 18, of Ste. Genevieve was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 east on Hwy. A and while attempting to turn onto Old Hwy. A, he reportedly failed to yield to a westbound 2010 Toyota Tundra and pulled into the path of the pickup, which was driven by Ryan C. Bietchert, 43, of Cedar Hill. After the collision, the car spun out and the pickup ran off the north side of the road and struck multiple trees, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Bietchert.
Corbett was taken by helicopter to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, according to the report.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and Bietchert was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
