Vicki K. Hessler, 71, of Arnold was injured late Friday afternoon, Aug. 12, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 30 and New Sugar Creek Road in unincorporated Fenton, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:30 p.m., Hessler was driving an eastbound 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and reportedly ran a red light at the intersection, and the rear right side of the SUV was struck by the front of a northbound 2015 Ford F150 pickup driven by James A. Bieg, 84, of De Soto, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Bieg.

However, Hessler was moderately injured and taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Equinox was totaled, and the F150 was moderately damaged, the report said.
