A 20-year-old Arnold woman was injured on Tuesday, Aug. 6, when she was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Miller Road at Mareda Lane in Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:28 p.m., Ariana L. Young was riding west on Mareda Lane and reportedly failed to stop at the intersection, traveling onto Miller Road in front of a Jennifer N. Diesel, 30, of Arnold, driving a northbound 2019 Honda Accord, who applied her brakes and struck Young, the report said. Shelby N. Black, 27, of Fenton, driving a southbound 2006 Ford Fusion, struck the bicycle.
Young was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
Young was treating and released, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, both Diesel and Black were wearing seatbelts, Young was wearing a safety helmet, and both vehicles had minor damage.
