The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close Metropolitan Boulevard at Hwy. M over the weekend, the agency announced.

The closure is to begin at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 11, with the stretch to reopen at 5 a.m. Monday, April 13.

The closures are for rehabilitation work on the Metropolitan Boulevard bridge over Glaize Creek. All work is weather permitting.

A second closure is anticipated to complete the bridge rehabilitation for a similar period of time starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 18, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 20.

A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure. Drivers on Hwy. M intending to access Metropolitan Boulevard or southbound I-55 will be detoured north on I-55 to the Imperial Main interchange (Exit 186) where they will turn left to access southbound I-55. Those wishing to access Metropolitan Boulevard will be directed to exit southbound I-55 at Hwy. Z (Exit 180), turn right onto to Hwy. Z to right onto Metropolitan Boulevard.
