Pet Spot: Smokey’s a curious kitty

Alyssa Fitzgerald of Arnold submitted a photo of her cat, Smokey, for Pet Spot.

Alyssa Fitzgerald, a member of the Leader adverting sales team, submitted this photo of her new kitty, Smokey. They live in Arnold.

“I just adopted him on Sept. 20,” Fitzgerald said. “He’s just (about 11) weeks old now and is about the size of my HydroJug. He weighed in at just over 2 pounds on his most recent vet appointment.

“He’s the most curious, playful kitten I’ve ever known.”

Fitzgerald said Smokey follows her everywhere.

“He loves drinking water, but also being wherever I’m at,” she said. “He wants to do and see anything I do, including drink from my HydroJug.”

She said her other cat is also in the photo, but hard to see.

“The cat behind him is a 2-year-old tabby named Cougar, who is generally annoyed by his antics, but is just as curious,” Fitzgerald said.

Smokey is a welcome addition to the household, she said.

“He’s brought a new playful energy to our home,” she said.
