Dot Ware of Arnold loves her 'furry granddaughter,' Roxy.

This 2010 photo features Roxy at about 2 months. She’s my grandson’s dog, and my furry granddaughter. I took the picture while pet-sitting at my home in Arnold. My grandson and Roxy also live in Arnold.

Roxy is a Labrador retriever and is now almost 8. She is really laid back and likes to play with her doggy friends, like my dog, Aunt Bee. She is very protective of the grandkids.

We’re very fond of Roxy. She visits us at hour house all the time.

The last Leader Pet spot featured an adoptable animal, Percy the cat (ID No. 446116), who’s still up for adoption at the Jefferson County Animal Control. Percy is a neutered male orange tabby with white markings. For more information or to adopt Percy, call Jefferson County Animal Control at 636-797-5577 or visit the county website at www.jeffcomo.org and look for the “I Want To” dropdown box and hit “Adopt a Cat & Dog.”

PET SPOT invites readers to submit a photo of their pets or nonprofit animal shelters to send one of an adoptable pet, plus a little information about the pet, to nvrweakly@aol.com. Please include a phone number and city of residence for submissions from individuals and contact information for animal shelters. A new PET SPOT is posted regularly. Dot Ware of Arnold submitted this week’s PET SPOT entry.
