Donna Hartmann of High Ridge took this photo of her tuxedo cat, Oreo, in June 2017. He was a feral cat at that time, she said.
“We believe he’s 10,” she said. “Oreo was once a feral cat and this photo was taken when he began to trust us. Shortly after this photo was taken, he became a totally indoor, spoiled kitty. I just love his expression of contentment.
“He was a feral cat I was feeding and this is where he would stay under our deck, in a Styrofoam cooler.”
She said he eventually joined the family inside the house.
“He became an indoor cat in about two years,” Hartmann said. “He’s extremely sweet and very loveable. He’s just an all-around great cat.”
