Haley Dickson of Pevely said her 9-year-old Labrador retriever, Lucy, can be too amiable.
“She’s a very friendly dog,” Dickson said. “Sometimes, too friendly. She’ll drop to the ground to get her belly rubbed. She’s a sweetheart.”
Lucy accepts wearing items that Dickson puts on her like the lei shown in this photo, she said.
“She lets us put stuff on her,” she said. “She has pajamas she wears. She doesn’t mind it.”
Even at her age, Lucy remains an active dog, Dickson said.
“She is energetic,” she said. “At age 9, she acts like a puppy.”
She especially enjoys being in the water, her owner said.
“She’s a water bug,” Dickson said. “We have an inground pool. When it’s hot, she’ll march right in.”
