Leader staffer Kate Bequette of Imperial calls Archie a “velcro dog” because he loves to stick close to her side.
Archie is a 9-year-old mutt, Bequette said.
“He is the sweetest boy around,” she said. “I saw Archie at one of PetSmart’s adoption days when I was running errands with my college roommate, Karinne. The employees of the rescue let him out of his crate, and he ran up to us. I knew he had to be mine.
“After that day, I called the rescue every chance I could to make sure he was still available. At the next adoption event, I filled out paperwork and took him home.”
Archie did come with some “baggage,” Bequette said.
“He had been returned to the same rescue twice. The first time, his previous owner had other dogs who would bully him into not eating. The second owner moved into an apartment complex that did not allow dogs. Despite his very sad past, I am thankful for Archie’s long journey to me. He now has a forever home.”
Bequette said Archie is her best friend.
“Archie is the chillest dog around. He adores everyone he meets, and his tail is always wagging.”
