Janet, a 4-year-old calico cat, survived feline infection peritonitis and owner Ashley Rice of House Springs is grateful she did.
“She is an FIP survivor,” Rice said. “I had to give her shots for 12 weeks. She is my miracle companion. “It is a disease caused by a mutation of the coronavirus. It was life-threatening.”
But, the treatment worked, she said.
“Janet’s doing great,” she said. “She’s thriving. She’s a warrior and a survivor. We cuddle every night.”
Janet knows what she wants.
“She’s very opinionated,” Rice said. “She’s very picky with her food. I bought her a different brand and she wouldn’t eat it.”
Janet and Rice’s other cat are friendly with each other.
“I have another cat named Jolene and they get along really well,” she said.
