EASTER LOAF

1 pound ground cooked ham

1/2 pound lean ground turkey

1/3 cup plain bread crumbs

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup milk

1 egg

CHERRY SAUCE

1/2 cup cherry preserves

1 tablespoon cider vinegar

1/8 teaspoon cloves

Spray bottom of 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker. In large bowl, combine all loaf ingredients; mix well. Shape into 6-1/2-by-4-inch oval loaf.

Cut 20-by-12-inch strip of foil; cut in half lengthwise. Fold each strip lengthwise in half twice, forming two 20-by-1 1/2-inch strips. Crisscross strips; place loaf on center of strips. Lift ends of strips to transfer loaf to sprayed cooker; fold ends of foil over top edge of slow cooker. Cover; cook on low setting for 10 to 11 hours or until meat thermometer inserted into loaf registers at least 165 degrees. Just before serving, in small saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients; mix well. Cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally. To remove ham loaf from slow cooker, lift with foil strips; place

on serving platter. Serve loaf with sauce. Makes 6 servings.
