Three concerts and one ballet are set to be performed in Arnold this fall and winter. All four shows are fundraisers for the Arnold Food Pantry and are sponsored by the Committee on the Creative Arts of Arnold and the Arnold Tourism Commission.
Beatles tribute
First up is a concert featuring the Liverpool Legends, a Branson-based Beatles tribute band that will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Rickman Auditorium, 745 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Admission is $20 for reserved seating and $15 for general admission. Parking is free.
The group will perform a variety of the Fab Four’s hits, like “Yesterday,” “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Let It Be,” Can’t Buy Me Love” and more. The group’s coordinator, Louise Harrison Caldwell, is the sister of the late George Harrison, one of the Beatles.
Classical concert
A classical music concert featuring world renowned violinist Michael Ludwig will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3517 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the food pantry.
In addition to Ludwig, who plays with the Philadelphia Orchestra, classical pianist Valentina Igoshina will return to Arnold for the classical concert. Other performers include Rebecca Hill on the clarinet, Valentina Takova on the cello, Robert Hart Baker on the oboe and Barbra Duvall Baker on the flute. Soprano Emily Bynum will sing “A Time For Us,” the theme song from the 1968 film, “Romeo and Juliet,” accompanied by the chamber musicians.
The local We Are One Community Choir will sing before the start of the concert. Complimentary refreshments will be served, and attendees will have the chance to meet with the artists.
The Nutcracker
At 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, the Missouri Ballet Co. will return to Arnold and perform the Christmas classic, “The Nutcracker,” at Rickman Auditorium. Admission is $15. Parking will be free.
The We Are One Community Choir will sing Christmas carols before the start of the ballet.
Mickey Gilley
Last in the series is a concert featuring legendary country performer Mickey Gilley at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Rickman Auditorium. Tickets cost $15 for reserved seating. Parking is free.
Gilley is known for the songs, “Room Full of Roses,” “Don’t the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time,” and “Stand by Me.”
