The Cole’s Hope Foundation recently awarded 12 $1,000 college scholarships and campus care packages to Jefferson County high school graduates.

This year’s recipients are: Fox High School students Josiah Jordan, Olivia Roscow, Katyln Lang, Addie Shepard, Megan Brown and Skylar Taylor; Herculaneum High School student Harmonye’ Sessoms; Windsor High School student Peyton Rauhaus; De Soto High School students Elizabeth Brown, Nichole McCord and Abigail Price; and Festus High School student Ashley Smith.

Cole’s Hope Foundation is a nonprofit organization created in memory of Colton Michael Buehner, a Seckman High student who was killed in a motorcycle accident in October 2014 at the age of 17. His family created the foundation in an effort to continue Cole’s passion for reaching out to students and offering them hope.

In addition to the college scholarships, each student received a campus care package that included a new computer, gas card, food cards, a new backpack and school supplies.
