Gold’s Gym has permanently closed its Arnold location, the company has announced.
The gym, at 215 Arnold Crossroads, was among about 30 company-owned gyms to close across the U.S. The Arnold location already had been temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Nine other company-owned Gold’s Gyms in the St. Louis area also were permanently closed, including a gym at 635 Gravois Road in Fenton, the company reported
Franchise-owned Gold Gyms are not affected by the company’s decision to permanently close corporate-owned gyms.
“The unprecedented COVID-19-related closures have caused us to reassess the viability of some company-owned locations and make the difficult decision to close about 30 of them, including all 10 gyms in St. Louis,” Gold’s Gym president and CEO Adam Zeitsiff said in a written statement. “Our focus is and always will be on our members, and we are working to find ways to help them continue their fitness journeys in St. Louis and will have further updates on this soon.”
The company said there are nearly 700 Gold’s Gyms in 29 countries.
