A 21-year-old St. Louis man has been arrested for allegedly damaging a vending machine at the St. Louis Sports Zone restaurant and bar in Arnold, after he got in a dispute about paying his bill, Arnold Police Maj. Nick McBroom said.
Arnold Police were called to the restaurant at about noon March 6, after the man allegedly knocked over the vending machine, the report said.
The man appeared drunk, McBroom said.
Before the man damaged the vending machine, causing about $100 in damage, he had gotten in a squabble about paying his bill at the business, McBroom said.
“He attempted to leave (the restaurant) without paying his bill,” McBroom said. “After one credit card was denied, he was paying with another one, but then he refused to sign (the receipt).”
The man also resisted arrest, getting in a “scuffle” with the arresting officer, McBroom said.
The man already was wanted on nine outstanding warrants from Arnold for traffic violations, McBroom said.
He also was wanted in Jefferson County on an outstanding felony warrant, with a $10,000 bond attached to it, as well as a St. Louis County warrant for a misdemeanor with a $700 bond, McBroom said.
The man was issued summonses to appear in Municipal Court for property damage, resisting arrest and obstructing, and the other law enforcement agencies that wanted him were notified so they could pick him up, the report said.
