Personalized pet groomer has seen business bounce back
TLC Pet Services LLC, a personalized pet grooming company in Herculaneum, has seen its business bounce back after initially being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We definitely saw a slowdown at the beginning,” spokeswoman Jessika Hickman said.
“Once the lockdown orders were lifted, there was a horde of people bringing in their pets,” she said. “It has slowed down from that.”
TLC, 280 Joachim Ave., did not have to significantly alter its cleaning protocols due to the pandemic because it already maintained stringent cleaning practices, she said.
“Thankfully, we did not have to make too many changes,” Hickman said.
“Stacey Klueter, the owner, and I are safety- and sanitation-certified. Basically, we took courses that teach groomers to keep the cleanest and most sanitary salons possible. A lot of our cleaning protocols were already COVID-protocol compliant.
“The only thing we changed was to start curbside drop-off and pickup.”
Hickman said business remains steady.
“I would say we’re pushing through,” she said. “We’re doing our best to let people know what our protocols are, that everything is safe and compliant.”
Hickman said she’s confident the business has ridden out the worst of the storm.
“We are definitely not going anywhere,” she said. “We are determined to provide the best grooming for pets in the area.”
Hickman said the business caters to cats and dogs that are not too large.
“We do cat and dog grooming for pets 60 pounds and under,” she said.
Klueter said pet grooming is offered in a “lower stress environment,” yet with a quick turnaround time while maintaining the highest standards for quality, safety and sanitation.
