Rebound: RE/MAX One back on real estate’s big wave
Like many small businesses, RE/MAX One realtors of Eureka had to close its office and work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic government-ordered lockdown back in the spring.
When restrictions were lifted, however, the company quickly climbed back on the upward wave in the real estate business, broker-owner Jim Patton said. The company is headquartered at 54 The Legends Parkway.
“We had to shut the office down in March when the coronavirus mandate came from St. Louis County,” Patton said. “Until Memorial Day, when guidelines got loosened, we worked remotely from home. At the time, we operated using modern technology – had Zoom meetings, virtual open houses, virtual showings.
“When the guidelines loosened, business literally boomed in the Eureka and Wildwood area. And, business has continued very solidly for RE/MAX One and the market in the area continues to be very strong.”
He said several factors have fueled the boom.
“Contributing factors are: super-low interest rates, lack of existing home inventory and lots of new home construction in the Eureka and Wildwood area,” Patton said.
He said his company has maintained all safety precautions in its interactions with clients.
“After the office reopened, we took special precautions, such as mandatory mask-wearing in the office and social distancing,” he said. “Anyone who comes into the office signs in for contact tracing. And, surfaces are wiped down every day.
“We’ve supplied all our real estate agents (with) hand sanitizer, gloves, masks and booties to bring with them to any showings or public open houses.”
RE/MAX One will keep selling houses long into the future, Patton said.
“RE/MAX One is thriving and on solid ground and can look forward to serving this community for many, many more years,” he said.
