Owners reopen Jilly’s after updating during closure

Jilly’s Cafe and Steakhouse, 1630 Gravois Road, in High Ridge, was closed for about two and a half months because of the pandemic, but during that time, the restaurant was spruced up and the menu was revamped, said Danny Bundy, who owns the business, along with his wife, Lisa.

When the restaurant reopened on May 15, it had fresh paint and some new lighting, as well as a new menu with specialty pizzas and other new items, Danny Bundy said.

The restaurant, which includes a bar, still offers its longtime favorites, like its 14-ounce, hand-cut ribeye steaks and chicken spiedini.

“We kept the staples of the place – entree items that are popular that people come for,” Bundy said.

The restaurant has made other

changes, like offering curbside pickup and family deals, he said.

A family meal includes a choice of an entree, like chicken Parmesan, bacon tortellini pasta, pasta con broccoli or chicken strips, along with two sides, which is enough to feed four.

The restaurant has a patio, which has been used frequently since the May reopening, Bundy said.

The Bundys bought Jilly’s in 2017, said Danny Bundy, who had worked for the previous owners, who opened the restaurant in 2006.

He said business is down because of the pandemic, but loyal customers are helping to keep the business going.

“We have groups who come in every Friday or every Saturday,” he said. “We’re a family-owned business, and we appreciate the support. We thank you, the people who have supported us through this.”

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays; and it’s closed on Mondays.
