Keeping trust: Carpet cleaning firm banks on strong reputation
Small businesses survive and grow on the trust and good will they establish with their customers. Those precious assets take years to build – something Mark Mueller knows all about.
Mueller, owner of Cardinal Carpet & Air Duct Cleaning in Wildwood, said it’s made all the difference during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The thing that’s helped us get through the most is our reputation,” Mueller said. “I’ve been in the carpet cleaning and air duct cleaning business since 1975 and people trust us. That’s a big thing. They’re inviting us into their homes and they want to feel safe.”
Remarkably, the company at 18902 Melrose Road has maintained an even keel in tough times.
“Our business has probably stayed about the same,” he said.
In every home they service, Cardinal Carpet & Air Duct Cleaning personnel use all the safety equipment called for during the pandemic, Mueller said.
“All our employees wear masks,” he said. “We’re using sanitizer on our hands when we enter a home and when we leave.
“Wearing foot covers and using masks and hand sanitizer shows respect for clients’ welfare,” he said.
The company offers home carpet cleaning and protection, rug cleaning, auto/RV carpet cleaning and specialized cleaning of air ducts, upholstery, mattresses and tile-and-grout. You can find out more on their website, cardinalcarpetcleaner.com.
Mueller has spent his entire adult life cleaning carpets and air ducts in homes of all types. He said he plans for Cardinal Carpet & Air Duct Cleaning to continue to serve the community for years to come.
“When I started, I was 19,” he said. “Now, I’m 64 and my son and I consider it a privilege to have a second and, possibly, a third generation serve the community.”
