Eureka’s Camila’s Tex-Mex adds patio, catering to keep business afloat

Camila’s Tex-Mex in Eureka has added a patio and branched out into catering in an effort to carry on during the pandemic, said manager Alex Escamilla.

His father, Miguel Escamilla of Ballwin, owns the restaurant at 54 The Legends Parkway.

Alex, of Eureka, said business has slowed because of the pandemic, but the restaurant is offering curbside pickup and doing what it can to keep the restaurant open and employees working.

“It’s tough,” he said. “Takeout is what’s holding up the business right now. We have a pretty supportive group of customers.”

Alex said the restaurant, which opened in June 2018, also is catering business lunches and other events.

“We just did a wedding rehearsal,” he said.

Alex said customers love the street tacos served at the restaurant, which offers a fusion of traditional Mexican and American cuisine.

In addition to serving a variety of tacos, burritos, enchiladas and other traditional Mexican dishes, the restaurant has several house specialties.

Alex said the family-friendly restaurant is ready to launch a new menu, which will include more salads and Tex-Mex fare.

He said the restaurant also has a bar.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays and Mondays.
