The St. Pius X volleyball team will play Jefferson City in the Class 4 state championship Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Show Me Center in Cape Girardeau.
The Lancers improved to 36-2-1 after beating Platte County (22-12-1) 25-18, 27-25, 25-22 today in the semifinals. The Jays (27-7) outlasted Lutheran-St. Charles (23-14) 15-25, 25-16, 25-13, 24-26, 15-11 in the other semifinal.
St. Pius beat Jefferson City in last year’s semifinals before finishing second to Incarnate Word Academy. This is the Lancers’ 12th appearance in the final four and they won state titles in 2011, 2016-2017.
