Faeger and Price’s father, Larry, are friends and Faeger coached Chandler in Little League. A three-time state qualifier, Price will compete in Class 4 District 1 at Lafayette next month as he makes his final attempt to win a medal at the state championships in Columbia on Feb. 27-28.
Sydney Streckfuss, Windsor wrestling
A two-time Class 1 state qualifier at 125 pounds, Streckfuss, a senior, won her third JCAA championship when the Owls competed at De Soto High on Jan. 14. She won the conference title at 130 after pinning Festus sophomore Alyvia Cusanelli in 27 seconds and De Soto junior Judith Wolfe in 47 seconds.
Addison Cupp, Festus wrestling
A senior, Cupp was selected the JCAA MVP after winning the conference championship at 110 pounds Jan. 14 at De Soto High. In a battle of two 2025 Class 1 state medalists, Cupp beat De Soto junior Cheyenne Kincade in two of three matches to win the JCAA title. Kincade was second in the state at 110 and Cupp (25-4) was third at 105 last season. After each wrestler pinned the other in the first two rounds, Cupp beat Kincade (21-5) with a 10-2 major decision after scoring a takedown and seven near-fall points. At the prestigious Wonder Woman tournament Dec. 29-30, Cupp became one of the few county wrestlers to place when she finished second at 105.
