Shelley Ungerank of Heartland Realty of De Soto stresses personal service as the main reason that clients should rely on her.
“The market changes frequently from a buyers’ market to a sellers’ market and everything in between, but what remains is the service provided by your agent,” she said. “People continue to sell and buy homes in every market for a variety of reasons. It is the agent’s job to help navigate the current market to obtain the results desired.”
Ungerank said she helps people prepare their homes for sale.
“I work with the client and determine their needs,” she said. “They may need help in how to prepare the house. In some cases, they may need to do an auction (of excess items) to move. We have connections on who to work with to help with the client’s needs.”
Ungerank said she continues to work on sales of new homes at the Villas of West Ridge in De Soto, but that is one area of concentration.
“That’s still one of my biggest listings,” she said. “But I do other properties, as well. In 2023, I’ve had 30 closings. Of those, 16 have not been in the Villas of West Ridge. I work in Jefferson County and the surrounding area. In Jefferson County, more in the south part, and some in St. Francois and Washington counties. Mainly, I do residential.”
She said she has been consistently successful at her job.
“I’ve been the top agent in our office since 2016,” Ungerank said.
Ungerank lives in De Soto. The office is at 111 W. Pratt St., also in De Soto.
“We live here and we spend our money in our community,” she said. “We are not an online, one-size-fits-all agency.”
