While the Tree of Life Art Gallery, Fine Antiques, Artfully Renewed Furniture store’s name sounds like it fully describes the business, it offers even more, owner Michelle Hohmeier said.
“We’ve created a space that combines the old with new by giving old furniture new life and bringing in vintage pieces, as well as being a boutique of new home decor and specialty food items while connecting with our community with our gallery of local art,” she said. “Tree of Life is more than just a home store, it’s an experience.”
Tree of Life, at 109 E. Main St., in Festus opened in November 2019 and offers unique items and a comfortable atmosphere for shopping, Hohmeier said.
“We’re not just a shop filled with pretty things – we’re a creative experience where every piece, every corner and every story reflects a deep love for craftsmanship, renewal and connection,” she said. “Whether it’s a work of art, a piece of vintage glassware or a refinished table, each has its own story.”
Hohmeier said while her store carries lots of vintage, she tries to keep up with trends, which right now includes “warm, earthy color palettes, textures and layers in wallpaper and natural materials,” as well as “sustainable materials and accents of colors like greens and burgundy.”
Hohmeier said her store sells items with purpose.
“When you choose Tree of Life, you’re choosing meaning over mass, beauty over trends and community over convenience,” she said. “It’s shopping with purpose and finding joy in the art of every day.”
