Not to worry: Beebe says real estate market remains bright

While the current real estate market is historic, it is not a bubble, says Lynn Beebe, broker and owner of Remax One in Eureka.

“So, the housing market is tough, but leading economists say a crash is not imminent,” she said.

The situation is different today from the big crash that occurred more than a decade ago, she said. Risks are lower.

“Buyers are putting more down on their home, which means they carry more equity,” Beebe said. “Most buyers now have fixed-rate versus lower-rate mortgages. In 2007, there were a lot of adjustable mortgages, which would make the payments go higher at certain times.”

Beebe said anyone looking to sell or buy should turn to her office, citing her agents’ experience.

“They know how to educate the buyers, how to negotiate when there is a multiple-offer situation, and how to be the winning bid for the buyers,” she said.

Beebe, who has 20 years of experience in real estate herself, said she has a team of 18 agents ready to help people navigate the market.

She said her office works with buyers and sellers in St. Louis County, Franklin County and Jefferson County.

And while Beebe’s agents are local, her office has a network of agents from 110 countries, which is helpful when a client is looking to relocate outside the local area.

Beebe’s business is at 54 The Legends Parkway, Suite 156, in Eureka. She can be reached at 636-938-3530.
