Experience, knowledge give realtor an edge

Hard work, creativity and a broad base of knowledge and experience are all factors to look for when choosing a realtor, said

Heather Lewis of Real Living Gateway Real Estate in south St. Louis County.

Lewis said her 25 years in customer service and 15 years in real estate have given her a sold background for helping Jefferson County buyers and sellers.

“My passion stems from my ability to help people navigate through the current market and its unpredictable conditions,” she said.

Lewis obtained her real estate license and went into business shortly before the housing crash in 2008.

“It was not the best time to open a brokerage,” she joked. “But I drew on my creativity and worked hard not only to help my clients buy and sell in that market, but also to build their investments to be in a better financial situation if anything like that happens again.”

Lewis previously worked for

Hillsboro Title and served in a leadership position with Arsenal Credit Union.

“While working for the title company, I obtained a title insurance license,” she said. “I carry a notary license, too. I served two terms on the Southern Gateway Board of Realtors, as well as on various other local and state realtor boards and committees.”

Lewis said her wide range of experience benefits her clients.

“I can offer favorable terms, not just price, because I have the knowledge to get the job done right.”

Lewis said she meets with potential clients to set goals and explore possibilities.

“I don’t just put a ‘SOLD’ sign in their yard and walk away,” she said. “I’m looking to build a real estate relationship that will last a lifetime.”
