Andrea Doyen-Patterson, the Mueller Electric Furniture and Bedding store manager, said the shop’s newly remodeled 3,500-square-foot La-Z-Boy Comfort Studio is now ready for customers to enjoy. The store is at 324 S. Main St., in De Soto.
Doyen-Patterson said La-Z-Boy was the first line of furniture the store carried when original owner Slim Mueller added furniture in 1976.
“We are the only La-Z-Boy dealer in Jefferson County and always offer lower prices than the big chain stores on all brands of furniture,” Doyen-Patterson said.
She said the other 15,000 square feet of the store is stocked with a number of other brands, including Legacy Classic, Justice, BarcaLounger, Best, England, Ashley, Bassett, Vaughan-Bassett, Liberty, Riverside and UltraComfort Lift chairs.
“Many of our brands are made in America. Some, like Justice, are made here in Missouri,” Doyen-Patterson said.
With the store’s wide variety of brands, customers can find furniture at price points for nearly every budget, she said.
The store also offers free professional local delivery, set up, and removal of old furniture within a 20-mile radius.
“I have found that not many other stores offer this service at all,” Doyen-Patterson said.
She said customer service has been of the utmost importance since the Muellers opened the family-owned business in August 1927. Nearly 98 years later, it is still the top priority for the current owners – Doyen-Patterson’s aunt, Mary Lee Doyen, and her father, Gary Doyen.
Mueller Electric Furniture and Bedding is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
