“Heading into the winter, you want to get up and check your roofs, valleys, behind your chimneys – all of which collects leaves. Make sure your gutters aren’t full and backing up,” Hinkson said. “We offer free roof inspection and evaluation.”
Hinkson, who served in the U.S. Navy, said he has 10 employees, one of whom will provide a visual inspection of a roof as part of the free inspection.
“We’ll check all of your pipe flashing, the valleys, check all the gutters and check to see that water is being pushed away from your foundation,” he said.
Hinkson said his company also offers free synthetic felt upgrades with any residential roofing project. He said synthetic felt provides a second layer of protection.
“We always give a free upgrade to add synthetic felt to protect against ice and water,” Hinkson said. “It goes underneath your shingles. It’s your secondary layer of protection in case your shingles blow off, you still have a protective layer.”
Hinkson said there are common signs that a roof needs repair, but the most obvious one is missing shingles.
“The biggest sign (that a roof needs work) is when your neighbors are getting new roofs,” he said. “Generally, if your roof doesn’t look right, there’s probably something wrong with it.”
