Festus realtor focuses on customer, not the sale

Lisa Casey Rush of Coldwell Banker Gundaker in Festus is eager to help you buy or sell a home, but only if it’s the best fit for you.

“Everyone has their own story about whether they should buy or sell and when,” she said. “But if I don’t think it’s the right choice for you at this time, I’m going to tell you. I don’t want to steer someone in the wrong direction for them just in order to make a sale.”

Casey Rush, 58, came to the real estate game about six years ago, following a 24-year career in banking.

She said her background gives her an advantage when it comes to helping buyers obtain financing.

“My experience gives me knowledge and insight to steer them to the right mortgage company,” she said. “I use strong lenders, and when you get a preapproval from me, it’s set in stone. It’s not going anywhere.”

Her experience also allows her to help her clients see the big picture.

“People have had it pounded into their head that, with rates so low, you need to buy right now,” she said. “But I say, don’t let the market overwhelm you. You need to stop thinking about just the rates, and look at utilizing the equity you have in your home.”

Casey Rush said it’s good to work on a case-by-case basis when evaluating plans to buy or sell.

“I have so many tools that can show you how to build an offer, do a one-on-one to see if it’s beneficial,” she said. “People realize the market is tough right now, but I want to encourage sellers and buyers both that I have the tools, knowledge and negotiating skills to get them under contract.”
