Building trust is key for real estate agent LaPlant
Karen LaPlant with Coldwell Banker Realty – Gundaker Metro South in Festus said she believes honesty is the best way to generate trust.
After being a real estate agent for 16 years, LaPlant said she is 100 percent honest with her clients.
“I’m going to tell you what I truly think at the moment,” she said. “I am not going to hide things from you. If I see something, I will tell you.”
LaPlant said that policy has built up a lot of trust with her clients over the years.
One honest opinion LaPlant shares is that she is not a fan of open houses.
“I feel like in today’s society, if you want to see my house you will schedule an appointment and come in and I respect people’s houses the way I would want them to respect mine,” she said.
She said she will do an open house if a client wants, but she believes in getting scheduled appointments.
“If there are more than two people in the house with me, I don’t know where those people are,” she said.
LaPlant said she has spent her entire career in real estate with Coldwell Banker Realty - Gundaker.
“If you’re already with the No. 1 company, why change?” she said.
LaPlant said she represents clients in Jefferson County, in the St. Louis metro area, St. Francois County and Ste. Genevieve County and is very knowledgeable about those markets. “I actually prefer the 67 and 55 corridors,” she said.
