JD Contracting is more than just a roofing company, said James Ade, who owns the De Soto-based firm with his wife, Gail.
“For more than 20 years, we have been exterior specialists,” he said. “We do roofing, siding, emergency repairs and leak repairs. We do power washing of houses. We even offer free roof inspections for insurance companies. We pride ourselves on being able to work with insurance companies.”
Ade said occasionally, other exterior jobs come his way.
“A lot of real estate agents, they need someone to clean up a yard while they’re getting the home prepped to put it on the market,” he said. “We do that kind of work also.”
Ade said he has been working in the roofing industry since he was in his early 20s, then decided to start his own company. The “JD” in the name comes from Ade’s name, James David.
“I like working in this business because I enjoy working with people, and it’s great to be able to improve their homes,” he said.
Ade said he prides himself on delivering personalized service.
“That’s from the start of the project to the finish,” he said. “We’re very respectful of homeowners. If we’re on site to do a power wash, our crews are very respectful of the landscaping and the property.”
Ade said that kind of attention to detail has paid off.
“We’re a member of the BBB (Better Business Bureau), and we’re accredited by them. We’ve never had any complaints registered. If there is any issue, we always take care of it,” he said.
JD Contracting does residential work in Jefferson County and in south and west St. Louis County, Ade said.
