De Soto villa development receives high marks
A villa community in De Soto is receiving rave reviews.
Shelley Ungerank of Heartland Realty in De Soto said a quarter of the Villas of West Ridge has been completed, and those who have moved into the development on Hickory Landing Drive off Hwy. 21 say they are enjoying their new homes.
“The feedback has been phenomenal,” Ungerank said. “People love the community, floor plans and the privacy of their villa.”
When the development is completed, it will include 30 buildings housing a total of 60 units, Ungerank said.
She said the base price for a 1,460-square-foot villa with a basement is $259,000, and a villa without a basement costs $247,000.
The villas also feature two-car garages, decks off the kitchen area and patios for those with basements. The community’s homeowners’ association charges those who live there a $150 monthly fee, which covers the cost of outside maintenance and outside structure insurance, Ungerank said.
“This is not a senior villa development,” she said. “Anyone can live here. It’s got city water and sewer, and exterior maintenance is taken care of.”
Ungerank, who has worked in real estate for 12 years, said while her focus is selling units at the Villas of West Ridge, she handles other residential home sales, too.
She sells homes throughout Jefferson County and in parts of Washington and St. Francois counties.
Ungerank said when people hire her as their realtor, they can count on her being there for them.
“I don’t work on a team,” she said. “You will pretty much always talk to me. I feel a lot of people like that. My motto is, ‘Shelley makes it happen.’”
