Heartland Realty is up-front about fees
Patty Hammond, broker and owner of Heartland Realty in De Soto, advises people who are getting ready to buy or sell a property to be on the lookout for extra fees when hiring a real estate company.
In addition to commission, it is common for both the buyer and the seller to be charged an administration fee, which can range from $125 to $995, she said.
Heartland Realty, on the other hand, does not charge administration fees.
“We do not have hidden fees,” she said. “Our competitors, they actually will charge the seller not only a commission, but an administration fee on top of that commission, which we do not do. I feel like a commission agreement between a seller and a listing company should not have any extra fees attached to it.
“We treat everyone with respect.”
Hammond said she opened Heartland Realty in 2011 to serve the De Soto and surrounding areas.
“We give great customer and client service,” she said. “We rank No. 1 in our home town of De Soto for many years, and we still service our surrounding communities.”
In fact, her office has no boundaries and can help buyers and sellers anywhere in Missouri, Hammond said.
“We do commercial, residential and vacant land,” she said.
Hammond said she has 17 agents who offer years of experience in the industry.
