Longtime Jefferson Countian Timothy Hardin, the owner of Aaron Masonry and Exterior Services, said most of his work is in St. Louis, but he likes operating his business from home.
Hardin, who grew up in Arnold, runs his business out of his House Springs house, making trips to St. Louis to complete most jobs.
“I’m located in Jefferson County, but all the brickwork is in the city,” Hardin said.
Hardin said he fell in love with the Jefferson County community while raising his two children here and has remained ever since.
“(I) love Jefferson County and I love St. Louis,” he said. “I rarely ever travel, and when I do, I just think, ‘Why would anybody leave home?’”
Hardin started his company in 2015.
“The first day on the job when I started (working) at a masonry company, I went out and bought a couple of tools and just decided that this is what I’ll do for the rest of my life,” Hardin said.
Eventually, he started his own business, which specializes in brickwork but does a bit of everything.
Hardin said masonry is a simple job, but his dedication to the work is what separates him from competitors.
“I’m in it for more than just a job. It was a career from Day 1. I made it my life’s work,” Hardin said. “(When people choose him they are) hiring a small scale company that is really doing the work from the heart.”
Hardin said that belief resonated through his motto, which reads ‘dedicated to the preservation and restoration of brick and stone structures in the St. Louis area.’
“I mean that, every word of it,” Hardin said.
