When shopping for flooring, it’s important to look for quality materials.
Joan Komlos, owner of Flooring System Outlet Store, said it offers quality contractor-grade flooring below contractors’ cost.
The warehouse, 6245 Lemay Ferry Road, Unit B in south St. Louis County, has 8,000 square feet of flooring, including porcelain and ceramic tiles that aren’t carried by most box stores, she said.
“A lot of it, you won’t see in those other stores,” she said.
Customers can see the quality by the color consistency, thickness and the brand names, including Daltile, Olean and Crossville.
She said 80 percent of what her outlet store has is left over from contractors’ jobs, particularly her son Ron Komlos’ business, Flooring Systems, 5461 Baumgartner Road, south St. Louis County.
“Everything we have but the vinyl and laminate is stuff that is left over from other jobs, so I’m able to sell it below contractors’ cost,” Komlos said.
She said her son purchases much of his material overseas from countries like Spain and Turkey.
The outlet store sells click-together flooring, laminates, waterproof carpet squares, area rugs, backsplashes and bound area rugs. With the exception of carpets that need to be stretched in place, she said her store can meet all flooring needs.
The store is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The store’s number is 314-714-8266.
Komlos said her store accepts all credit cards and while it does not install its products, it can recommend installers.
