Farm and Homestead Equipment opened in March at 121 Osage Executive Circle in House Springs.

“We are a family owned business that specializes in equipment for the hobby farm and homestead,” owner Dwayne Helton said. “Our equipment is ideal for homesteading, vegetable and hobby farming, and maintenance of sports complexes, parks and estates.”

He said the business is a dealer for Solis diesel tractors, Farm-Maxx tractor attachments and Millcreek spreaders and spin groomers, which are used to smooth and loosen soil in ballparks, horse arenas and other show grounds.

Helton said the business also offers lawn care equipment for professional and residential customers. It also services and repairs most makes of mowers and small tractors.

“We sell Walker professional lawn mowers, Country Clipper mowers, Greenworks electric mowers and hand-held tools,” he said.

Helton said the business also specializes in “high quality greenhouses,” which people may build or have Farm and Homestead Equipment install for them.

“We also have a nice line of aluminum and easily movable chicken coops that can double as dog kennels,” he said.

Helton said he and his wife, Merrie, co-own the store with their twin sons, Archer and Aden.

The family has a hobby farm.

“We know and trust these brands (the store carries) because we use our equipment daily on our 20-acre homestead/hobby farm where we garden, raise miniature cattle, chickens, goats and hogs,” Helton said. “We fell in in love with small equipment and decided it would be fun to pursue a business. Our motto is ‘helping you do more where you are.’ Our mission is to treat customers like we would like to be treated.”
