Becky Gedney of BG Sewing and Embroidery has lots of ideas for custom, personalized projects – and the skill and tools to make them a reality.

“Embroidery is what I really focus on,” she said. “I have more than 300 thread color options to choose from, which makes it easier to match the customer’s color schemes.”

Gedney, who lives in Eureka, said she offers embroidered gift items for businesses, such as hats, shirts, golf towels and rally towels, and there’s no minimum order size for customized items.

“I can imagine Realtors doing gift baskets for clients with personalized towel sets,” she said. “That’s a great way to personalize a sale.”

Gedney now offers direct-to-film transfers, which she said is a “clean, crisp option” for larger designs on apparel. Many people choose the direct-to-film transfers on the back of the shirt and will put a smaller embroidered logo on the front for a super personalized product, she said.

“The (direct-to-film) transfers for apparel offer a more creative way to get your logo out there,” she said. “This is the newest, hottest thing on the market right now.”

Gedney also stocks stuffed animals especially made for embroidery. She said the stuffies unzip, are washable, and can be custom embroidered to the customer’s specifications, including with names, baby statistics, birth dates, baptisms and more.

She encourages prospective customers to visit her Facebook page, BGS Quilts & Embroidery, to look at her previous work. They also may call her at 314-277-5757.

“Everything I do is custom, and so I discuss everything with the customers as to what they want,” Gedney said. “I work up a design and submit it for approval. If I have the item in stock, I can do it within the week, generally.”
