For homebuyers not sure of what to look at when it comes to the roof, Eureka Contracting & Roofing owner Rick Hinkson has some simple advice.
“If it basically looks askew or like something’s wrong with it, it probably is,” he said.
Hinkson said prospective buyers should look to see if fibers are going through the roof or if there are missing or lifted shingles. And if roof work is needed, make sure to hire the right contractors. Hinkson said he always advises people to use local contractors who are insured. For those unsure if the company they are working with is local, he said to look at the license plates on the company vehicles.
