Call Eureka Contracting and Roofing before winter arrives

There’s no better time to get your roof a checkup than now, before winter weather rears its ugly head. Rick Hinkson, owner of Eureka Contracting and Roofing, 128 S. Virginia Ave., said when leaves start to gather on roofs and behind chimneys in the fall, issues can follow.

Hinkson recommends having your roof inspected at least once a year to catch issues before they turn into problems. It’s especially important to check roofs before they become covered with wet leaves and snow.

Eureka Contracting, which celebrated its 10th year in business in August, offers free roof inspections for both residential and commercial customers and will take jobs within a 40-mile radius of Eureka.

Inspectors look for potential trouble spots such as missing shingles. They also check to make sure everything is sealed properly, such as the flashing around chimneys, and look for unsealed shingles that could be lifted by wind.

After the inspection, the company provides a short report with photos at no charge, usually within 48 hours.

For business owners with a flat roof, Eureka Contracting offers an optional coating that can be applied for a fraction of the cost of a full roof replacement. The coating is a white silicone with 86 percent reflectivity, which has the added benefit of keeping the building cooler in warm weather. Hinkson said the treatment adds years of life to the roof and is backed by a 20-year warranty for labor and material.

Eureka Contracting and Roofing installs commercial and residential roofing, gutters, siding and also does painting. The company guarantees complete jobsite cleanup, and the old roofing is recycled.
