Rick Hinkson, president of Eureka Contracting & Roofing LLC, said homeowners should schedule a roof inspection this time of year.

He said roofs may have been damaged during storms that swept through the area in May or previous damage may have become worse during the winter.

“With our weather, your roof takes a hit,” Hinkson said. “It needs a little TLC in the spring, and sometimes, that will get you a little more life out of it. It may be damaged enough that it needs to be replaced, or some of the older damage after you get through a winter, it starts to show up.

“There are a lot of reasons to get your roof looked at before the obvious signs of (damage). It is always better to be proactive rather than reactive.”

Eureka Contracting & Roofing offers services such as residential roofing, siding, soffit, gutters, fascia and commercial roof coating.

The company’s office is at 128 S. Virginia Ave. in Eureka, and it may be reached at 636-938-7663 or through its website, eurekacontracting.com.

Hinkson, a Navy veteran, has operated Eureka Contracting & Roofing for 14 years. He said many customers appreciate working with his veteran-owned business.

“People tell us they like the idea of it being a veteran-owned business because they are a veteran or their grandpa, dad or mom was a veteran,” he said.

Hinkson said his company is committed to providing quality craftmanship and products.

“We offer product and workmanship warranties and stand behind our name,” he said.

Through July, Eureka Contracting & Roofing will give away made in the U.S. American flags to anyone who schedules a free 15-point inspection.

“If all of your neighbors are getting roofs and you didn’t have yours looked at, it might be a good time to do so,” Hinkson said.
