Veteran real estate broker and agent Cort Dietz of RE/MAX Best Choice, 1510 Parkway West Drive, in Festus, has been guiding homebuyers and sellers since 1983, and he officially became an agent/broker in 2013. Thanks to his decades of realty experience, Dietz said he has developed a straightforward approach to navigating changing market conditions.
“When clients face uncertain markets, they really do seek out the best professionals they know will provide them the best service,” he said. “The vast majority of agents have suffered through a down year, but we are actually up 50 percent over last year’s production and achieved another record year.”
Dietz attributes this success to the trust his clients place in him and his commitment to “brutal honesty” and dedication to making transactions smooth. Rather than advertising with billboards or gimmicks, he said his focus remains on “providing what really matters to people, for everyone, every time, without fail.”
Despite economic shifts, Dietz said he has noticed renewed market activity.
“Now that we have gotten past the turmoil of the election season and the holidays, we are seeing a spike in activity again,” he said.
Dietz notes that buyers are returning to the market even though interest rates hover around the 6-percent range, adding that he has seen some buyers secure rates in the 5-percent range.
“Sellers are not as plentiful as we would like,” Dietz said, “and the market is still out of balance, making it more of a seller’s market.”
Dietz said he anticipates a strong 2025 and has expanded his team by bringing on a new administrative assistant, Lilly Pickens, to provide even better service to his clients.
