Festus store showcases dozens of vendors selling home decor, more
If you’re looking to decorate a newly purchased house or to update the one you’ve owned for years, you might want to check out the Creations on Main store at 12 E. Main St. in Festus, where a variety of vendors sell home decor and other items, owner Michaela McKelvey said.
“Our business is so special because almost everything in our store is handmade by a small business. We have 30-plus vendors in our store who stock their own booths weekly with new items,” she said.
McKelvey said the store opened in August 2020 during a less-than-ideal time during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the number of vendor booths in the store has continued to grow.
In addition to home decor, the vendors sell jewelry, clothing and gifts, she said.
“When you shop in our store, you are able to support more than one local business,” McKelvey said.
Creations on Main’s motto is “Our store is like Etsy but in real life,” she said.
McKelvey said she works in the store, along with her one employee, Rebecca Witte.
“Most days you can find us working the register and moving items around,” she said. “We are a one-of-a-kind store. We love to meet and greet new people who really enjoy shopping with us.”
