Comfort Cabinetry & Design, 404 N. Main St., in De Soto offers homeowners ways to make their homes feel less cluttered, more functional and more their own.
Kristy Carder, who started the business eight years ago, recently changed the business’ name from Comfort Cabinetry to Comfort Cabinetry & Design.
“Design is such an important part of what we do,” she said. “We don’t just sell cabinets and countertops. We create spaces: a functional kitchen, an organized pantry, a comfortable office. (We create) a space that feels like home.”
The company offers competitive prices, uses advanced software to create renderings and coordinates projects from concept to completion.
Carder works with clients on new homes and remodels.
“For a remodel, I will meet them at their home, and we’ll talk about the pain points,” she said, adding she is available on weekends and evenings by appointment. “You tell me what you like, what you don’t about your kitchen and how we can make it better, more functional and pretty.”
She said more people are working from home and want to declutter their house. They might find they want to add an island or a pantry cabinet to the kitchen or update the office to fit their needs.
Carder said she recently helped buyers who had fallen in love with a home just out of their price range at $400,000. She said the buyers also loved a $325,000 home except for the kitchen. She met with them and came up with a remodel that cost $25,000 so they could have everything they wanted and within their budget.
Abby Miller was recently hired as a project manager.
“Abby keeps things moving on the project, making sure every detail gets the attention needed,” Carder said.
