The roof of any building is important as the first line of defense against the elements. Because the roof protects everything a family owns, any installation or repair needs to be done right, according to Bob Bagby of Classic Roofing and Exteriors in Herculaneum.
“We take care of people. And we have high standards,” he said.
Bagby, 56, his wife, Mary, and their staff operate the business at 1304 Commercial Blvd., just south of the Herculaneum Post Office.
“We have Junior Shy in the office, and then we have about 31 guys who go out in crews of five or six at a time,” he said.
The business does some commercial work but its main focus is residential roofs, new installations as well as repairs and replacements.
Bagby, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, has been in the business for more than 20 years. He operated in St. Louis before moving to Jefferson County and opening the Herculaneum location seven years ago.
“I’ll never go back to the city,” he said. “I like it here. We work in a 50-mile radius of here, and we mostly try to stay in Jefferson County.”
The office is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, but Bagby said he can provide emergency service 24/7.
“When your roof is damaged, it opens your home to the elements,” he said. “That can do untold damage to the house and its contents, and end up costing you in the long run. We understand the importance of getting it taken care of right away. We are here to help you protect your investment in your home.”
